It’s no secret that CAD-CUT® Glitter Flake heat transfer material is one of the most exciting and versatile materials on the market. Dance and cheer teams incorporate the glitter effect into much of their apparel, as it embraces who they are in addition to offering increased visibility while competing. The fashion industry has also embraced the glitter trend. The more I look around in everyday life, the more glitter I see. I was out to dinner with a group of friends this weekend and three of the men I was dining with had a design on their shirts that incorporated glitter. Thankfully, they weren’t offended when I asked to touch their shirts to confirm. Not to mention my teenage daughter who has an element of bling on just about every piece of clothing she owns. Undoubtedly, you have noticed the same trend and your customers have been requesting you to add some bling to their garments, too. I’ve decided to let the cat out of the bag and offer 4 Glitter Flake tips so you can give your customers exactly what they are looking for.
Glitter Flake Secret #1
Let’s assume that by now you have taken part in the glitter sensation and have Glitter Flake in-house. You followed the application instructions, cut it on your vinyl cutter, applied it with your heat press, and thought, “Wow! I love this stuff! It’s easy to weed, easy to apply, has a great hand, and most of all, it looks great.” I had this exact thought when I began cutting black, navy, and royal. However, when cutting red, raspberry, silver, gold, and light pink, I encountered a frustrating glitch – I couldn’t see the cut lines! I love Glitter Flake too much to let this minor issue stand in the way, so I found a solution – the freezer. Yes, you heard right. Put the cut material in the freezer for a few hours or overnight. As soon as you remove it from the freezer, roll the material while cold and the cut lines will appear, making weeding a breeze.
Glitter Flake Secret #2
When light pink is applied to dark substrates it will no longer be light pink, but will appear a clear opalescent color. This makes it a great multi-use heat transfer material, getting two effects for the price of one.
Glitter Flake Secret #3
Glitter Flake has now been added to the Pre-Spaced Text and Numbers line! You can now get names and numbers to match your custom logo!
Glitter Flake Secret #4
Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone I told you, but we are adding new colors to the Glitter Flake line. Everyone here knows I can’t keep a secret so they won’t tell me what those colors are, but I can tell you we will have over 20 colors to offer just in time for spring.
